The vale of Lorton is a series of villages leading from Cockermouth near Keswick and is one of the prettiest areas in the northern lakes. The ancient villages of high and low Lorton near the Whinlatter pass have properties dating back 300 years. There are many excellent walks in the area including Rannerdale knotts, Buttermere, Loweswater and it’s nearby waterfall. Whinlatter Forest boasts an excellent cycling track.
